6. Overseas disclosure
Personal information is primarily held in Australia. Some of our technology service providers (for example, cloud hosting and email providers) may store or process data on servers located outside Australia. Where that occurs, we take reasonable steps, in line with APP 8, to ensure the recipient handles the information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
7. Cookies and website analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work properly, remember your preferences and understand how visitors use our pages. This helps us improve content and usability. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies or delete them through your browser settings; doing so may affect some features of the site. Analytics data we collect is used in aggregate where possible and is not used to identify individual visitors unless reasonably necessary.
8. Security of personal information
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. This includes access controls on our electronic systems, password protection, and restricting personal information to team members who need it to perform their duties. When personal information is no longer required, and we are not legally obliged to retain it (for example, under tax or business record-keeping laws), we take reasonable steps to destroy it or de-identify it.
9. Data quality and correction
We take reasonable steps to ensure the personal information we collect, use and disclose is accurate, complete, relevant and up to date. If you believe information we hold about you is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete or misleading, please let us know and we will correct it, generally free of charge.
10. Access to your personal information
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you by emailing ceo@transformerexcavations.online. We will respond within a reasonable time and, where we agree to provide access, will do so in the manner you request where it is reasonable and practicable. In limited circumstances, the APPs permit us to refuse access or to give limited access; if that happens, we will explain our reasons and how you can seek review of the decision.
11. Anonymity and pseudonymity
Where it is lawful and practicable, you may deal with us anonymously or using a pseudonym, for example when making a general enquiry about our services. However, we usually need your name and contact details to prepare an accurate quote, arrange a site inspection or deliver works.
12. Government identifiers
We do not adopt government-related identifiers (such as licence or Medicare numbers) as our own identifiers for individuals, and we only collect or use such identifiers where permitted by the APPs.
13. Direct marketing
We may use your contact details to send information about our services where you have consented or where the Privacy Act otherwise allows it. Every marketing email we send will contain a clear way to opt out, and we will act on opt-out requests promptly and free of charge.
14. Complaints and feedback
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can resolve it:
We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to complete our investigation and respond within 30 days.
